Fire of God

When it was time for the evening offering, Elijah the prophet approached the alter and prayed: "O Lord God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, prove today that you are God in Israel and that I am your servant and have done all these things at your command. Answer me, O Lord, answer me, so these people will know you, O Lord, are the true God and that you are winning back their allegiance."

Then the fire from the Lord fell from the sky. It consumed the offering, the wood, the stones, and the dirt, and liked up the water in the trench. When all the people saw this, they threw themselves down with their faces to the ground and said, "The LORD is the true God!"

"Therefore, since we receive a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us show gratitude, by which we may offer to God an acceptable service with reverence and awe; for our God is a consuming fire."

"The LORD reigns; let the earth rejoice; Let the many islands be glad. Clouds and thick darkness surround Him; Righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne. Fire goes before Him, And burns up His adversaries round about. His lightnings lit up the world; The earth saw and trembled. The mountains melted like wax at the presence of the LORD, At the presence of the Lord of the whole earth. The heavens declare His righteousness, And all the peoples have seen His glory."

‎"The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge. They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them. Yet their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world."
